Profile: As Buffy's assigned Watcher, Giles was responsible for training the Slayer for battle, advising her on the supernatural threats she faced, and keeping an eye on that pesky Hellmouth for the sorry bunch of wankers known as the Watchers' Council. He also provided Buffy with a strong male role model in place of her deadbeat dad.
